I graduated from SUI and am very happy with my education here. The staff is very supportive and caring and their primary concern is my success. My internship site was fabulous. I got a ton of hands-on training in all ultrasound modalities and also participated in ultrasound-guided biopsies. I was impressed with the curriculum and was challenged by some subjects more than others, specifically the physics portion of the program. Thanks to the new physics instructor Tamara, I was able to wrap my head around it much easier because of how she was able to break down the material in a very direct and understandable way. That combined with the free tutoring and workshops the school provides I am set for success. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a career as an ultrasound technologist. If you put the hard work in you will certainly come out on top.
My daughter loves everything about this school. She has achieved noticeable maturity since attending and developed a skill set that she can utilize in the business world! This is a credible school with a SOLID fundamental influence on education and growth. The staff are very active with communicating to their students and among each other. In March of 2010, I was laid off from a company after fifteen years. Devastated by this life-changing event, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the healthcare industry. After researching different professions in the medical field, I decided to become an Ultrasound Technologist. After researching ultrasound programs in the Sacramento region, I found my home at Sacramento Ultrasound Institute and began my journey with them in February 2012. During this time of schooling, I felt a direct relationship with the staff at Sacramento Ultrasound Institute, and was also given the opportunity to volunteer with the Sutter Memorial Hospital Radiology Department. After graduating, SUI continued to support and guide me along the way.
After completing the two-year program requirements, I accepted a per-diem Ultrasound position with Enloe Medical Center as well as a position as an Ultrasound Technologist with Mint Medical to perform vascular studies for Kaiser Permanente. I have continued working for both organizations. I wish I would have pursued this dream career twenty years ago. This profession has truly changed my life beyond my expectations, and I feel very blessed to have the knowledge to provide outstanding medical health care to patients within our community.
