I was invited to attend Professor Max Torres’ Accounting for Managers class. The class walked through the steps of recording Accounting Transactions. They reviewed a Trial Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Owners Equity, and Balance Sheet.
We then covered how to explore taking out a loan for business or personal use.
I was able to address the class briefly and let them know that these accounting fundamentals are the essential backbone of running a business, reporting up to your board of trustees or board of directors, and essential information when applying for a business loan.
Students were enthusiastic and participated gladly in the discussion of these concepts and applied them confidently. Great class!
